I am watching the season replay of Rookies to Racers that follows the Jetta TDi Cup series.
Before my rant a little set up, VW only uts 25 drivers between the ages of 16 and 26 in the field. As far as I can tell about 5 of the bids come from outside the actual VW qualifying. Thousands apply, about 600 get invited to try outs, and only 20 get picked to pursue their dreams.
It is the final episode, covering the final two weekends of the series. One of the championship contenders, a talented young man from Mexico ending the season in Mexico, and standing in front of a chance to win the money he needs to keep racing has to spend time with his motivational coach?
How the f*** can you have the opportunity of a lifetime and need help being motivated or go through that whole process to be picked and not be confident that you belong?
That absolutely blows my mind. I would seriously stab my own brother to be 25 years old again and have someone hold out the keys to the castle and tell me to come get them like that.
Can anyone explain to me how someone is such a great position could possibly need help with their motivation?
