Fox Body Gas Tank Pressurization

Why is my 88 Mustang gas tank pressurizing?

The exhaust is now routed around it but when it is low on fuel it starts spraying out the fuel neck and down the quarter panel.

Any tips?

That actually sounds like you need a new fuel filler neck grommet. 79-04 mustangs of all years and models, except for the 03-04 cobra had this issue. The fuel filler neck grommet goes out every 50k or so on most cars, terrible ford design, but, the only thing you could really do is swap in an expensive 03/04 cobra tank or a fuel cell.
